Fall and Winter Must-Have Style Staples for Your Capsule Wardobe
Faux Leather Moto Jacket
Even the girliest of girls needs a good faux leather moto jacket in their closet! The added texture and bit of edge adds so much interest to your look — and keeps you so warm! I am in LOVE with this one – the quality is incredible.
Faux Suede Moto Jacket
To go with your winter whites and pastel sweaters, I love having a tan faux suede moto jacket in reach.
Perfect for cozy days at home or a more buttoned-up out-and-about outfit, I love a soft and comfy duster to layer over simple tee’s or blouses.
Distressed Mom Jeans
The jeans of the moment are certainly mom jeans, and I hope this trend NEVER goes away! I love the high rise and loose fit. It adds the perfect touch of trendiness and can elevate even just a simple white tee or basic sweater. If you’re looking for an affordable, quality pair, this one is my favorite and I haven’t tried these yet, but everyone raves about them!
And speaking of blouses, everyone needs a gorgeous white blouse in their closet. You can’t ever go wrong with a feminine blouse and moto jacket look for dinners with friends, date nights and more. I love the mix of feminine and frilly and modern and edgy.
Black Leather Booties
The shoe staple that’s a must for a fall and winter capsule wardrobe is a pair of leather or faux leather black booties. Again, I love the pointed toe style for an elevated look and elongated legs.
Tan Suede Pointed-Toe Booties
A beautiful pair of tan booties can truly go with any outfit. I especially love reaching for my tan booties with my lighter colored looks or with my winter whites. The pointed toe style elongates your legs so much, which is always a huge perk in my book!
Printed Statement Booties
And lastly, once you have your tan and black booties locked in, grab a fun pair of fun printed booties for the days were you want to add a statement to your look! Fall and winter capsule wardrobes certainly don’t need to be boring.
Oversized Denim Jacket
I LIVE in denim jackets for fall and winter casual looks, whether it’s throwing it on for a trip to the grocery store or adding over a fun fall dress for a date night. Since moto jackets are a bit more form fitting, I love to have an oversized option with my denim jacket.
Wide Brim Hat
One of my favorite trends of the season, and the perfect addition to almost ANY fall outfit: a wide brim hat. It immediately elevates your outfit, and hides a bad hair day, so you really can’t go wrong.
Chunky Knit Sweater
Of course, everyone needs a well-loved chunky knit sweater, and this sweater I couldn’t recommend more. It’s $25 and I have it in four different colors. It is perfect for throwing over a dress or pairing with denim.
For layering under moto jackets and cardigans, I love to have a thinner, turtleneck sweater or top within arm’s reach. While I love the classic simplicity of a basic turtleneck, I also love taking it up a notch with some pretty frills — the girly girl in me can’t resist!
Versatile Fall Dress
If you have one or two versatile fall dresses in your closet, your opportunities are endless! Here I shared a post where I styled one $20 fall dress in three completely different ways.
Cozy, Simple Tee
Faux Leather Leggings
And last but not least, if you’ve been on the fence about grabbing yourself a pair of faux leather leggings – DO IT! The Spanx ones are worth every penny and can make your oversized sweatshirt, leggings and sneakers grocery-store-run outfit look so chic, or they can be elevated with some heeled booties and a beautiful sweater. They are so versatile and such a fun staple to have in your closet.
