Nothing says summer like laying under the hot sun, enjoying the beautiful weather, and then realizing you forgot to bring your sunglasses or a backup deodorant. It’s always something, right? This is where an everyday summer bag saves the day! Life is just too busy in the hot summer months to stop and do a mental checklist of everything you might possibly need every time you leave the house. So, save yourself and have your bag prepped and ready ahead of time!
Today I am sharing with you how I prep an easy, everyday summer bag! Whether you’re heading to work, the store, or the beach, it is so helpful to have a versatile bag that already has the essentials. Plus, packing a bag ahead of time allows you to think through your lifestyle choices and you can focus on including organic, environment-friendly options. If you’re not a one-bag kind of girl, you can easily create smaller bags using cosmetics bags that you can switch between handbags or totes. Never forget the necessities again!
Summer Bag Checklist
- Sunglasses
I lose my sunnies way too often to invest in a really nice pair, so inexpensive sunglasses will always have my heart!
- Sunscreen
The older I get, the more I realize how important protecting your skin truly is! No, my love for a great tan hasn’t gone away, but that’s where a quality self tanner comes in! 😉
- Deodorant
I absolutely love my Tom’s of Maine® Long Lasting Deodorant! It smells amazing, works so well, AND it is completely natural! More on this below! You have to check this stuff out! 🙂
- Chapstick/lipgloss
Especially in the summer months, my lips get so dry! Protect your pout and keep some chapstick or lipgloss on you at all times!
- Dry Shampoo
My hair couldn’t survive the hot summer days without dry shampoo. Avoid aerosol cans and chemicals by simply using baby powder! I honestly think it works just as well, too!
- Water bottle
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
- Oil blotting sheets
I already have oily skin even before the humidity and heat hits me! Oil blotting sheets are essential in the summer for me. So many brands offer recyclable sheets, so keep an eye out for those!
- Portable phone charger
Summer days usually mean long days, so don’t forget your portable charger.
- Magazines or books
Maybe it’s not an essential, but doesn’t some R&R time in the sun make you want to grab a good read?
- Reliable sandals
Whether you are starting the day in heels or a new pair of sandals, you never know when something is going to rub the wrong way, especially after a long day.
- Optional (and very cute): Hat
Protect your face from the harsh sun and look super cute while you’re at it! A new blog post with lots of floppy hats and summer bags will be out soon! Sign up for emails to the right of this post to make sure you don’t miss it!
Time and time again, having these necessities on-hand has certainly saved me! As promised, here is more on the fan-favorite Tom’s of Maine Long Lasting Deodorant that has to make its way into your summer bag!
Tom’s of Maine® Long Lasting Deodorant
I started my rave above, and now I seriously have to keep on going! This stuff works so well and is free of all-thing-harsh-and-scary like those chemicals with names 30 characters long. Tom’s of Maine deodorant provides clinically proven, 24-hour odor protection while also being free of aluminum, artificial colors, flavors, fragrances or preservatives. Plus, you can feel free good about using it, knowing their product is not tested on animals and their containers are recyclable. The two sticks pictured above are my favorite! The unscented one is great for when you’re wanting to flaunt a new perfume, but still needing a high-quality odor protectant, and the apricot smells exactly how summer should! It is amazing and my absolute favorite! You can find both of these scents, along with lavender and refreshing lemongrass at your local Walmart in the personal care isle (shown below) or online. Plus, use the Ibotta offer for $1 off Tom’s of Maine Underarm Protection Products! Haven’t used Ibotta? Learn more here!
