Hi, friends! I’m back with another wedding planning blog post, and this time I’m excited to dive into some of the very best wedding planning podcasts for engaged couples.
Since getting engaged, Ilir and I have been hard at work with the wedding planning process, from deciding on our wedding vision, to selecting our venue, to researching all of our vendors, and quite honestly I’ve found myself feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole process. And truthfully, it isn’t due to the required time and work (don’t get me wrong, it’s a LOT of work, but I LOVE to tackle big projects) but what really freezes me up and gives me a wave of stress it the complexity of the wedding industry — especially for someone who hasn’t been to a lot of weddings! Ilir and I are some of the first in our friend groups to get married, and we’re both the oldest in our families! Planning a wedding is challenging, especially without a lot of wedding guest experience — but honestly, I could have ended that sentence with “challenging.” Ha! It’s HARD WORK, a lot to think about, and a very complex process.
Something that has helped me so much is tuning into wedding planning podcasts. There are so many amazing podcasts for the bride-to-be (or groom-to-be!) out there that can provide amazing insights, talk you though various steps of the day, and give you incredible ideas for wedding during your commute, while you walk, or as you are cooking up dinner. (No time to waste – we’ve got weddings to plan!)
Below I’m sharing the best wedding planning podcasts I’ve listened to so far that have made such a difference, and I’m linking some of the best episodes that are FULL of valuable wedding planning tips and tricks.
Best Wedding Planning Podcasts
Bridechilla Podcast
The Bridechilla Podcast was the very first wedding planning podcast I tuned into, and I was hooked from episode one! The host, Aleisha, is a hilarious Aussie who keeps things SO real. Her goal is to help you enjoy the wedding planning process and become a “Bridechilla.” She brings on amazing guests and will have you laughing and jotting down amazing ideas. I love her sense of humor, but her episodes are also packed with amazing wedding planning tips. Best part: if you decide this podcast is for you too, there are over 400 episodes!
The Big Wedding Planning Podcast
I most recently came across The Big Wedding Planning Podcast and can’t wait to listen to all of their value-packed episodes! The hosts are both experienced wedding planners who bring on other wedding industry experts to talk about all of the wedding planning topics you could imagine! Similar to Bridechilla, it’s so funny and the hosts have such a great sense of humor and relatability.
In particular, one episode I think is so beneficial is their Crash Course to Wedding Planning. This is perfect if you have no idea where to begin, OR, your partner might need some help wrapping his or her head around the industry. It’s the perfect episode to send to your partner if you want to try to catch them up to speed on things they should know about the wedding planning process. (Ilir got this episode sent to him minutes after I found it, ha!)
Put a Ring On It
Put a Ring On It is another value-packed wedding planning podcast with an interesting industry perspective, as it’s hosted by a wedding planning photographer and a wedding planner. I love to hear their insights on all of the ins and outs of wedding planning. They give it to you real and share tons of valuable tips and tricks, and bring on great guests!
Betches Brides
If you love Betches, you’re definitely going to love Betches Brides. This podcast is much more conversational and casual than the ones above, and I find myself laughing out loud repeatedly. If you’re looking for a podcast that’s more real-life brides, funny stories, tips and tricks from people who are in similar shoes, this is for you! The above recommendations offer a great professional element; this one offers a great relatable element.
If you only listen to one episode from Betches Brides, make it this one: How Do I Plan A Wedding Under 30K? I don’t care if your budget is $20k, 30k, 50k or 100k; this podcast is for EVERYONE! The title might sound a bit focused on one specific budget, but it’s all about how to save money on your wedding while still having a beautiful, elevated experience. And we all want that, right? No matter what your budget is, we should all be educated on the process and smart with our money.
This episode is packed with so many good tips and truly made me breathe a little easier. It was such a great reminder that while your wedding day is certainly one of the biggest days of your life, it also is one day. Not to say it isn’t worth putting your heart and soul into planning (because trust me, we are still a ways away from our wedding and I’ve already spent countless late nights deep in research and spreadsheets — this is the most important day of my life yet!), but some things don’t need to be as over-the-top as your Pinterest board. Be smart with your money and spend what you can, because there will be many more expensive things to come.
Are there other wedding planning podcasts you love? Drop them below and keep the list running! And if you give one (or all) of these a listen, let me know your thoughts! I’d love to chat.
Happy listening!
